HEY -  Anyone have some pictures they'd like to get posted? If you've got something that's related to the club, or cycling in general, shoot them to the TDR webmaster and we'll get them posted.

The annual hangover 100 event is coming up - so come on out to Slades Park with those new toys and enjoy a great day of racing with the rest of the club members. You can click here to download a tdr logo copy of the flier (500K) in Adobe Acrobat format. If you don't have Acrobat installed on your system, you can click here to download the current version. The Acrobat file is pretty large though, (5.2 meg), so plan on taking a while to download.

As everyone  knows, it's a bit of a job keeping the trails maintained, so we're asking that members take some time out of their busy schedules and lend a hand on the trail work.  We've got about 150 members, so it shouldn't take too much effort by anyone if everyone pitches in a bit. We could use the help.

If anyone has a question, please feel free to contact the TDR officers at the following numbers. Email links are available for those with email. Ray Balonis 484-8411, Wesley Bonafe 565-6443, Donald Carawan 638-0465, Lori Dusky at 427-3304

For those not familiar with the system, the TDR club has access to a simple way to stay in contact with other riders and post messages to a mailing list.  The only thing you need to do to subscribe to the service is to click here and include the word "subscribe" the pleasure of riding through crystal clear water! (quotes not required) in the first line of the message. If you want additional information or receive an error message, you should click here to visit the web page discussing how the mailing list works.  You can also click here to contact the person running the mailing list if you have further questions.

Riding in the Tidewater area of Virginia, our club is  one of the oldest motorcycle clubs in the state. Although many members actively participate in motocross events, the primary focus of the club is trail riding.

As a member of the Virginia Championship Hare Scramble Series, we sponsor several races in the Tidewater area. The club boasts some of the finest riders in Virginia, as demonstrated by the yearly results posted by the VCHSS.

Although the paragraph above says the prime focus is trail riding, that's a bit misleading. The REAL focus is family involvement.  From the long term members who've been with the club since its founding, to the youngest riders, the TDR is a great place for outdoor family entertainment with people of similar interests.

I think my mike wound up SOMEPLACE down here! One of the finer things in life is being able to provide riders of tomorrow, with a place where they can ride in a safe environment, learning self confidence and personal responsibility. The Tidewater Dirt Riders strongly encourages families with young members to join and take advantage of what the club offers. You'll not find a better place for these tykes to have good, safe fun.

The club hosts several events each year, intended to provide entertainment for people of all ages. Ranging from racing as part of a statewide competition, to family outings where we encourage everyone to bring a tent and spend the weekend, your'e guaranteed to have a good time.

What's it cost to become a member?  Annual dues are $50.00 (per family), with dues based on a 1 April - 1 April time frame. People who join mid year pay less, depending on when they join - if you join anytime in the first 6 months, you pay the full $50.00 fee, but if you join in the second half of the year, dues are reduced to $25.00. Club rules are that you must attend a meeting to join. Following your initial membership, we will consider updating your membership via mail, but propspective members must be present to join the club.

Meeting Location:
All of our meets are held at Dennis's Steak House in Churchland. This location is PERFECT in that it provides members with an opportunity to grab a bite to eat at the same time we're holding the meeting. Dennis Steak House is located at 3356 Western Branch Blvd in Churchland, (it backs up to Lowe's). If you tdr riderneed further directions you can call them for directions ( 483-9050). They have a large meeting room we've booked the place for the upcoming months. By the way, from the very first meeting we held there, it was apparent you get your money's worth. We're all wondering if they know how to serve a small meal, and the prices are cheap!
