Just wanted to post a reminder that there are several things going on with the club in the next few weeks to month. Please help pass the word to those that you know are club members...

1. Our next club meeting has been moved from Dec 14th to Dec 7th..Yes, we are having back to back meetings this week.... We will be voting on New Officer's for the 2001 season and voting on new By-laws/Constitutions..

2. Our club is participating in the Smithfield parade next weekend, Dec 9th...If you would like to be a part of the fun and be on the float or help prepare things please contact Ralph Benhardt this week..356-0354.

3. TDR is hosting "A gift for a child". If you can give a gift for a child or two for the holiday, please contact me (Lori Dusky). There are 11 children at the Hope Haven Children's Home in Va Beach that we could help make a better Christmas for.  Please help out this holiday season..427-3304..

4. The hang over race is approaching us soon..It is less than one month away (Monday Jan 1, 2001,). If you are interested in helping the day of the race or can volunteer some time the weekend before the race, please contact Wes Bonafe'..723-4183...

We hope this helps those who have not been able to make TDR meetings lately. I would like to ask that as many of you that can, please show up for the meeting on Dec 7th..We would like to have your vote on whom you would like to see run the club for 2001.

See you all then...Happy Holiday's to all....

Meeting on December 7th  (the day that'll live in infamy)
The meeting regularly scheduled for December 14th has been moved to December 7th since our meeting place will be holding a Christmas party that day. If you're going to attend a single meeting all year, this is the one..... it's where the club members cast their ballot for the officers for the coming year.  Remember.... the rules state that only one member per family is allowed to cast a vote for that family membership.

December 7th is also the last night to set up final preparations for Smithfield Parade... Once again - PLEASE bring a canned good item or non perishable good to help the food banks and children homes for the holidays in our area...THANKS!!!

November 30th......

The meeting scheduled for Nov 30th is an important one for the club. We'll be voting on new by-laws and changes to our constitution. The proposed bylaws are posted on the website - you'll see the link on the left side of the home page.

We'll also hold discussions on the Smithfield Parade - seeing who'll be attending and what theme to we elect to use. For those not familiar with this topic, the club will be attending as part of the annual event there in Smithfield.

We have some open issues regarding our participation at the annual VCHSS board meeting. Since the board meeting is this weekend, this is the final opportunity to be heard before the club presents it's views to the VCHSS board. If you want to be heard, please plan to attend.

The club is putting together a "gift for a child" for Christmas..... We need volunteers to help get things organized, and we'll ALWAYS appreciate those members who are willing to give a gift for a less fortunate child this Christmas. What can you do to help.... please take a look at this and see if you're able to contribute. We'd appreciate it.

The meeting on the 30th of November is also your last chance to place a nomination for someone you'd like to see filling the role of an officer of the Tidewater Dirt Riders. Come out and make your vote count.... (where have we heard that before   :o)    we promise no extended recounts   grin.

Since we're in the holiday season, please contribute to making the life of some other person better by bringing a canned good item or non perishable good. We're collecting anything folks will contribute in an effort to help the food banks and children homes in our area...THANKS!!!
